MERC partners engage in first Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) of the Irish offshore energy sector

MERC partners have teamed up with Aecom and Metoc Ltd. In a ccessful bid to produce the first Strategic Environmental Assessment of Ireland’s offshore energy sector, including wave, current and wind energy. The study of a comprehensive range of socio-ecological and engineering parameters will help to fast track planning for relevant future industry. The study, which is due for completion in the next 9 months, will involve CMRC expertise in Marine Spatial Panning and biological assessments, in addition to HMRC expertise in operational and management aspects of marine renewables.
